Good roof insulation is more than just applying a layer of material. Before we begin, for a pitched roof, we inspect the beams and roof decking for wood rot, woodworm, and woodborer beetles. If there is already a vapor-proof layer in the structure, such as foil or a layer of polyurethane foam under the roof tiles, we first install a moisture-regulating climate foil. This foil keeps moisture out in the winter and allows the structure to breathe in the summer, so that no moisture becomes trapped in the roof.
